The Priming Effect & Ideomotor Effect (“Words Altering Behavior”)
The Priming Effect & Ideomotor Effect (“Words Altering Behavior”) The Priming Effect is a psychological effect that occurs when an individual is exposed to information (most often in the form of ‘words’) that increases the likelihood that the same or similar information will be repeated by the individual. In this lesson, we discuss the priming effect, including a special case of the priming effect known as the ideomotor effect. We will also discuss reciprocal priming effects as well.
