Kauai | Sony FS5 RAW

The beauty of Kauai captured in 4K raw using the Sony FS5 and Atomos Shogun Inferno. I filmed this video back in 2019 but decided to remaster it. My color grading skills have come a long way since then and I was able to really make use of the raw files. The footage has lots of latitude to work with which allowed for really clean color rendition. I did notice the raw footage has substantial noise in it, especially in the shadows. This was even with over exposing by 1-2 stops for most shots. Kauai has lots of fog/rain in the mountains which the camera struggled with producing clean imagery. The YouTube compression tends to cause the noise to look splotchy. Overall though I am happy how this footage turned out. 95% of the footage is handheld as it is hard to hike with any stabilization gear.
