St. Brigid's Church ⛪️ in Drumcong in County Leitrim

St. Brigid's Church ⛪️ is a Roman Catholic Church located in the village of Drumcong in County Leitrim. It was built in 1781. The transepts were added in 1891. This church closed in 1976 when a new church was built across the road from it. While most parishes in Ireland permanently chose to have the new modern churches as permanent replacements for their older churches in Drumcong a decision was made to restore the old church and close the new church. Restoration works took place between 1994 and 1995. It was rededicated on 13th August 1995. The modern church was sold and became a private residence but has since been put back up in the market. This church is one of two churches in Kiltubrid Parish in the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise.
