Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, KS Walking Tour

Walking tour of Oak Park Mall shopping mall located at 11149 West 95th Street Overland Park, Kansas 66214. Oak Park Mall opened in 1974 with original anchors JC Penny, Macy’s, Montgomery Ward and Stix Baer & Fuller. Montgomery Ward closed down in March 2001. The mall used to feature Rainforest Cafe which opened in 1999 and remained there for a decade. The double-decker carousel located on the bottom floor of the mall was originally located in the atrium near Dillard’s south and was removed in the early 2000’s for remodeling purposes which included implementing a regular carousel with a miniature ride-on train. The double-decker carousel was later returned in 2009.
