Checking the Rear Drum Brake and Brake Shoes on a Ford Focus 2015 TDCI Estate New Shape

Drum brakes can be a lot harder to change if they are worn. It's a very good idea to take apart a drum brakes when they are new, if you are unfamiliar with the layout, in case they become worn or say the spring snaps inside (visual reminder of the location of the springs). When they are worn, they don't come off easily, so you will not be able to easily visualise the where tension release ratchet is and what it looks like when trying to place a screwdriver in through the aperture located on the back of the brake assembly, to spin the ratchet to retrieve back the brake shoes, in order to take the pad away from the worn lip, so that removal is possible.
