"Lavori solo tre giorni? Poverina" — perché il part-time è stata la mia scelta migliore

Today I'm home from work—but I work at home. And in this video, I'll also explain the difference, because it's something that touches me personally. When I tell people I work three days a week, they often look at me with that "poor thing, you haven't found anything better" look. The truth is different: it was a choice, a way of life. The other days I'm here, totally dedicated to this place—like the founders of these homes, those who never went on vacation because they had to be looked after, cared for, and looked after. In the meantime, we work: today I'm harvesting chickpeas grown from my friend Niccolò's seeds, checking the potatoes, and arranging the garlic to dry. And while my hands are busy, so are my thoughts—about the meaning of effort when you could pay someone to avoid it, about why the mountains remain authentic precisely because they're inconvenient, and about the true value of home-grown food: not the monetary value, which will never repay the hours spent, but the value you put on the table knowing exactly where it comes from. With barely half a hectare of cultivated land, sometimes I don't know where to put my stuff. And that, to me, is worth more than many salaries. 📌 Have you also felt judged for a nonconformist lifestyle choice?
