Rep. Green says 'we can demand for all footage of incident' for proper investigation, prosecution

Rep. Sylvia Garcia and Rep. Green held a briefing in Houston on Friday to discuss her conversation with ICE Director David Venturella following the fatal shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston on Tuesday. Araujo was shot and killed Tuesday during an ICE traffic stop while driving his crew to a construction site. The Department of Homeland Security says Araujo rammed an unmarked ICE vehicle while officers were pursuing his white van, and that an officer opened fire in self-defense. But three other men who were inside the van, including Araujo’s brother, are now challenging that version of events. The men, who are currently being held in ICE custody, told an attorney that Araujo did not ram an ICE vehicle and was instead shot through the passenger-side window. Garcia said Araujo, a 52-year-old homebuilder, was not the person ICE was looking for.
