Elbe -Seitenkanal Bienenbüttel - Bad Bevensen | Wanderung entlang der Wasserstraße | Fahrradtour

Hello, in this video I'm hiking along the Elbe Lateral Canal from Bienenbüttel to Bad Bevensen. Follow me on my hike along the Elbe Lateral Canal and experience a fantastic destination with plenty of water, nature, barges, bridges, and geese 🪿. For today's hike, I chose a roughly 13 km route from the Wulfstorf landing stage (connecting road between Bienenbüttel and Vastorf) to the Waagekai campervan site in Bad Bevensen. It was the first warm spring day of the year, and I took advantage of it to enjoy a lovely hike along one of Germany's most important waterways. The paths along the Elbe Lateral Canal are very well maintained on both sides (mostly gravel, but also tarmac and paved sections) and are wonderful to walk on. Of course, these paths are also very suitable for cycling. The only elevation gain is at the bridges—if you want to cross them, that is 😀. This is certainly not so easy by bicycle – check a map beforehand to see where you can easily cross the bridges with your bike. On my tour, I regularly cross to the other side of the canal and walk across the bridges. This always offers fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. During my tour, various barges overtake me or come towards me. There are plenty of cyclists, anglers, and couples enjoying the beautiful weather or trying their luck at catching a fish or two. If my walking route is too short for you, you can, of course, extend it as you wish. With a fast bicycle, you naturally have the option of covering longer distances and, if necessary, returning to your starting point. I hope you enjoy watching the video! Jens
