Pilots, START Your ENGINES! Starting Carbureted vs. Fuel-Injected Engines

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an instructor or a mechanic. These are some tips I want to share that seem to work for me, but do your own due diligence and check with your instructor or A&P if you have any questions. There are some mistakes that should be avoided when starting piston engines and I learned about them the hard way. Having had some trouble starting the engine of an airplane, I did some research and found some tips I want to share with you on this video! I can still improve on my fuel-injected hot starts, I'm sure. In hindsight, I think I will allow the system more time to run with mixture cut-off and fuel pump on high, and maybe allow a little bit more time also with fuel flow when pushing the mixture to full rich.
