Halvorsen - Norsk Festouverture, Op. 16 (Norwegian Festival Overture)
Composed by Johan Halvorsen, a late nineteenth-early twentieth century composer. He wrote this piece for the festive opening of the National Theater in Kristiania in 1899. Grieg declared: "His overture is fresh and rich with a funny Norwegian Rococo character that fits the surroundings." Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra Neeme Jarvi, conductor
