Hiking To The Maryland Heights Overlook 7.5 Mile Hike In Harper's Ferry On today's adventure we travel to Harper's Ferry West Virginia for a 2 part hike that ends with some amazing views and some crazy cliffs. The hike starts at the Harper's Ferry National Historic Park Visitor's Center and instead of taking the Shuttle Bus we took the trail to the Lower Town down the stone staircases and past the tiny waterfall. Instead of following the road the rest of the way into town, we jumped onto the Appalachian Trail segment that took us past Jefferson Rock and into the town of Harper's Ferry. Before continuing the hike, we explored the town and got some awesome breakfast energy from Battle Grounds Bakery & Coffee. Next, we crossed the River via bridge, followed the canal towpath and then crossed the road to the official start of the 4.5 mile Maryland Heights Overlook Hike. It was a steep climb to the top, but the views and the Instagram pics from the overlook were unbelievable. I even got the courage to stand over on a huge rock that was pretty awesome. At the end of the journey we stopped at the Rabbit Hole, which might be the best restaurant in Harpers Ferry and toasted to the beauty of West Virginia! #HarpersFerry #WestVirginia #Hiking
