Discovering Antique Japanese Kakejiku Scrolls in our Akiya House!
At our traditional Japanese #akiya house, we made an incredible discovery—antique Japanese scrolls, or kakejiku, hidden away for decades! We believe some of these antique paintings and scrolls date back to the Edo and Meiji periods. It was such an exciting find! 📜Join us as we carefully unroll these beautiful, timeworn treasures and explore their history. Could they be valuable artifacts? Or forgotten family heirlooms? 🌸 About Our House: Our home in Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture, was once a historic sake brewery called Yoshino no Haru and has a stunning weeping sakura tree out front. Now, we’re bringing it back to life while uncovering pieces of Japan’s past. We bought our home as an Akiya, or abandoned house, through the akiya bank system.
