Kenya is on track to have the first saint in accordance with the Roman Catholic creed after Vatican identified Sister Irene Stefani, an Italian lady who came to Kenya in 1915 for beatification. Irene is credited with treating life threatening diseases in Gikondi Catholic Parish where she served as Sister until her death in 1930 with her compassion earning her the name Nyaatha in Kikuyu dialect.
