PASC was live to support IHSS healthcare workers at the Ronald Regan State Building on 7/1/2026

SACRAMENTO and LOS ANGELES, CA — On July 1st, the Long-Term Supports and Services for All (LTSS4All) coalition held simultaneous press events in Sacramento and Los Angeles to respond to Governor Newsom's final state budget and to make one thing clear: the communities that depend on Medi-Cal and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) are not a line item to be cut — they are Californians whose lives, independence, and dignity are at stake. As the Governor prepares to sign the state budget, advocates representing people with disabilities, older adults, homecare workers, and immigrants are gathering to speak directly to the consequences of proposed cuts to IHSS, Medi-Cal eligibility, and the state's asset test rules. Regardless of the final budget outcome, this coalition was present — to sound the alarm, to bear witness, and to demand that California's leaders protect the services that allow hundreds of thousands of Californians to live safely at home.
