The day began with a prayer at Dona Elza's guesthouse, a moment of surrender that illuminated each step of the journey. Soon after, I set off on the pilgrimage and reunited with the group of pilgrims from the previous day. It wasn't just a reunion, but a profound connection: we walked at the pace the path demanded, we prayed together, we smiled, and we transformed effort into joy. The greatest challenge came at Machadão Hill: 3.2 km of intense ascent under the strong sun. Every meter seemed to test our faith and endurance, but nothing was impossible. The strength lay in unity—when we needed it most, a motorcyclist offered support, reminding us that the Way is made of solidarity, of helping one another. And when we conquered Machadão, we celebrated: even a cold beer marked the victory over the mountain.
