Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more delicious recipes from Flo’s German Kitchen! ❤️👨🍳 👇 *Full Recipe & Ingredients Below!* 👇 *Swiss Rösti Recipe (2 Ways) 🇨🇭* *Ingredients (for both versions):* 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes (waxy or all-purpose) 1–2 tsp salt (to taste) ½–1 tsp ground black pepper (to taste) 3–4 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying) ⅓ cup (80 ml) German beer (optional, for extra flavor) *For Serving (optional):* Fresh lettuce with vinaigrette Smoked salmon, sausage, or classic Zürcher Geschnetzeltes Tomato slices *Instructions:* *1. Rösti #1: Classic Thin & Crispy (Raw Potato)* Peel (or leave skin on if you prefer) and grate the raw potatoes. Quickly mix with salt and pepper. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a clean kitchen towel. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Spread potatoes into a thin, even pancake. Fry on medium (about 50% heat) for 15–20 minutes until golden and crisp underneath. Flip using a plate or lid, then fry the other side until golden. Serve hot with your favorite sides! *2. Rösti #2: Thick & Cake-Like (Parboiled Potato)* Boil potatoes for 15 minutes until just tender outside but still firm inside. Let cool. Grate potatoes (peeling optional). Mix with salt and pepper, then squeeze out excess liquid. Shape into a thicker pancake in the skillet with oil over medium heat. Fry slowly, adding a little more oil as needed, until both sides are golden and the inside is cooked through (about 20–25 minutes).
