TANNHEIMER TAL 1

Part 1. 1. The flat high valley invites us on our e-bikes for a pleasant exploratory ride. What a pleasure to be in the Tannheim Valley in autumn! We explore it as hikers, mountain bikers, and recreational swimmers. Today we swim in Lake Haldensee for the first time. It's warmer than expected in September—around 18-19 degrees Celsius. 2. During a mountain bike tour from Grän to Nesselwängle, we look down from the Adlerhorst viewpoint at this impressive, green-hued mountain lake, in which we swam just yesterday. We cycle leisurely back to Grän on the other side of Lake Haldensee. 3. The Wannenjochbahn cable car takes us from Schattwald up to the mountain. On the Schmugglersteig trail, you can play cops and robbers—I mean, smugglers and customs officers. For many decades, goods were smuggled between Austria and Germany on the mountain path between Wannenjoch and Iseler. After arriving in Oberjoch (Germany) by cable car, the public bus will take us back to Schattwald with our guest card. 4. Today's very popular bike tour (no mountain bike required) leads via Schattwald and Rehberg to Pfronten (Germany). The route continues past gently flowing mountain streams back into Austria.
