This video shows how to steam shelled oysters in sake using a frying pan. Grilling shelled oysters over charcoal is delicious, but the preparation is a lot of work. Therefore, if you want to enjoy shelled oysters at home, we recommend steaming them in sake using a frying pan. You can easily make delicious steamed oysters in a short amount of time. Oysters can pose a risk of food poisoning from norovirus, so we also introduce some precautions. Oysters vary in size and weight. Larger, heavier oysters are less likely to heat through, so it is safer to cook similarly sized oysters together. Steamed oysters are delicious just as they are, but adding a little seasoning to change up the flavor can add a slightly different flavor and make them more enjoyable.
