Hiking the Gunnison Route at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (+ Overlooks!)

Black Canyon of the Gunnison is the least visited of Colorado’s 4 National Parks and is home to some of the steepest cliffs in North America. It gets its name Black Canyon not because of the color, but because some parts of the canyon receive only 33 total minutes of sunlight per day 😳 because of how steep and narrow the canyon is. We spent one jam-packed day in the park, hiking the intense and steep Gunnsion Route and exploring the South and North Rim overlooks. We loved this underrated gem!
