CIMM 04 03 23 LIRONE XPRESS

The fourth CIMM Premiere on 24th of March is devoted to my EP CD "LIRONE XPRESS" which presented primarily my playing on the lira da gamba (lirone or arciviolata - younger and bigger sister of lira da braccio) which I have recorded (using multiple tracks of my own performances) in my home studio B in Birkfeld, Austria in the autumn of 2020. In its title the name of the instrument is combined with Xpress which mean to express yourself or express in terms of a speed; in spite of the opinion of some specialists (musicologists or my colleagues) that this instrument is suitable to perform only some long (and boring) chords, during my long practical experience I discovered that it can be used also for more rhythmic and faster music, especially in the case of dances or pseudo popular forms as villanella or villotta.
