The PERFECT Flop Strategy! [Mastering GTO]
Knowing which flops you should continuation bet on and which ones you should check is one of the most important fundamentals in poker. Thanks to Jonathan Little and the PeakGTO poker trainer, you can now learn exactly when to fire big, when to go small, and when it’s best to check back. Mastering the perfect flop strategy will quickly sharpen your poker game and make you a far tougher opponent at any poker table. When deciding whether to continuation bet or check, you should consider whether the flop is more favorable for your range or for your opponents. On flops with all broadway cards or high paired boards, the preflop aggressor usually has the range advantage and should continuation bet frequently, often with a small sizing. On the other hand, when the flop is low and connected, it typically favors your opponent’s range, so you should continuation bet less often and opt to check more frequently. When choosing if you should continuation bet, you should also think about which player has the nut advantage. If the board favors your range and you are the one who can most often have the strongest possible hands, you can continuation bet frequently and using larger sizes. However, when the board is better for your opponent’s range, meaning they are more likely to hold the nuts, you should continuation bet less often and lean toward smaller bet sizes or decide to check more often.
