How to replace Ham receiver Filter Cap Cheap method Drake 2B repair example
Economical Filter capacitor replacement. Why spend $45.00 on a cap that you can construct for $5.00. In this example, I am replacing a Drake 2B filter cap, however you can apply this to any receiver or radio. I have performed this repair over many years. Except for the cosmetic difference, performance is as good or better than original. It is an easy process, use a tube socket, drill out, insert the leads, install into the chassis, connect, now as good as new! If you need more info or would like to buy a custom cap, contact me.
