Creating Easy Knife Grip Textures in Onshape
Most of Knife handle Grip has a pattern on it. Creating Pattern on a Complex surface in Onshape is quite complex, because knife handle has a complex surface. Using a simple extrude could not solve the issue of creating an accurate pattern. We need to wrap the pattern around the handle. The native wrap feature in Onshape only works with Cylinder and Cone. A custom feature is needed in this case. This one is the best example for using Advanced wrap feature. Hope you enjoy the timelapse. You can look here if you need to know how to wrap around a sphere The Advanced wrap feature video will release soon. Stay connected. I am still fixing some bugs on it I did a test render using my free web application at Meweto. You can test it here too. https://3dcadrender.meweto.com/ 00:00 Introduction 00:19 Design of simple blade shape 05:11 Design of simple handle form 11:24 Pattern and Wrap 16:24 Rendering test
