How Easy Is It to Change Your NVM Subsystem’s Personality?
The NVM Express working group has been working on finding solutions to allow NVM subsystems to have configurable personalities. This talk will give details on TP4163 Configurable Device Personality and how this new feature is going to add value to SKU reduction and secure specific NVM subsystem configurations for end customer engagements. OEMs and platform providers will be able to better manage inventories and prepare products for delivery in a more efficient way using this new NVMe capability. In this presentation, Andres Baez and Festus Hategekimana of Solidigm will also cover how personalities may be protected from further changes by an owner unless the personality supports authentication, and the host is authorized to make changes.
