Eifel Rallye Festival 2024 - SS8: Lehwald 2 Arena - all cars, big action and mistakes! (raw footage)

The final stage of the 12th Eifel Rallye Festival, a 2nd pass on SS Lehwald, recorded from the 'famous' Lehwald Arena where I also recorded 2 years ago on our first visit. It started raining heavily before the stage, making the roads very threacherous. A stage consists of a series of "course cars" or "vorauswagens" in German, sometimes also labeled as Slowly Sideways, this are the cars with V-numbers. After these cars the "Festival" starts, and every car in the festival has an exact livery referring to a car from back in the days. The festival this year normally consisted of a series of VIP drivers (1-13), followed by a Walter Röhrl Monte Carlo collection (14-20). After these cars, this year's theme was "Rally cars from A to Z". Usually all cars are ordered by build year, but now they were first ordered per brand. Probably due to the rain, some of the VIP drivers did not start anymore, and the starting order was hassled so I did not add chapters to this part of the video. There was a long pause in the middle of the stage due to an accident, but it had stopped raining and when the stage resumed, the roads had dried a bit but not the downhill corner that was hidden behind the corn field, lots of drivers underestimated the grip in the corner, throwing mud on the road and making it even worse... But without ditches, there was room for error, making the stage a nice end to this year's edition! Enjoy the video!
