According to the PM, the target of the attack was the teenager Vitor Gabriel Pereira da Silva, 16 years old, known as "Minhoca", who was hit by shots to the head, rescued in serious condition and taken to the Hospital da Restauração, in Recife. According to the police, the teenager was in Vila de Ramos when two men on a motorcycle arrived at the scene, fired several shots and fled. During the investigations, the police discovered that the suspects had abandoned the motorcycle and started using a white Renault Kwid, located in Timbaúba. The occupants disobeyed the order to stop, tried to flee and, during the tactical pursuit, allegedly fired at the military. The three suspects were shot, received medical attention, but did not survive their injuries. The police seized three .38 caliber revolvers, a motorcycle, and a car with a theft report from the group. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased were members of the Nova Okaida faction, while Vitor Gabriel, who is serving a socio-educational measure for an offense analogous to drug trafficking, allegedly had ties to Comando Vermelho.
