Anna im Loch

The second stop on our journey to the lesser-known places in the diocese takes us to the Coesfeld district, more specifically to the municipality of Rosendahl, and even more specifically to Darfeld, and there to the Höpingen farming community. The oldest "inhabitant" of this village of 200 souls is probably Anna. The Höpingen residents affectionately call her "Änne int Lock." No one knows how old she really is. What is certain, however, is that she already existed during the Thirty Years' War. She "survived" it unscathed in a well. But Höpingen has much more to offer.
