I Tried Landscape Photography in Yosemite for the First Time

I spent two months planning the perfect Yosemite trip… and a week before we arrived, the weather ruined almost all of it. This is the story of my first time trying landscape photography in Yosemite National Park. For years, I’ve photographed people portraits, quinceañeras, and events but landscape photography was completely outside my comfort zone. So when I decided to finally give it a serious try, Yosemite felt like the perfect place to start. But once we arrived, the trip I had planned quickly changed. Rain moved in. Temperatures dropped. Roads were uncertain. Some of the photos I had imagined before the trip never happened. At first, I thought the weather was ruining everything. But the more time I spent in Yosemite, the more I realized that landscape photography is less about perfect conditions and more about learning how to adapt to the conditions you’re given.
