The second 'In Conversation Online Event' for the Scottish Maritime Museum's current exhibition, 'Woven Waves: The Jutland Tapestries', by Katie Russell. Listen to award-winning tapestry artist Katie Russell describe the enduring craft of tapestry, from its beginnings centuries ago up to weaving in modern Scotland. Katie will discuss and demonstrate some of the techniques she used to produce her tapestry weavings for her Jutland Project. This project developed into exhibition, 'Woven Waves: The Jutland Tapestries', seen at the Scottish Maritime Museum. Katie Russell Katie is a tapestry weaver based in the South West of Scotland. She obtained her Jewellery & Metalwork Degree at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee where she also studied tapestry weaving. Katie is a member of the British Tapestry Group and has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in the UK and Ireland.
