Allingham Arts 2020: Adrian Dunbar, interviewed by Michael Daly

The highly talented and award-winning Adrian Dunbar, interviewed by Michael Daly, former editor of the Donegal Democrat, for the Allingham Arts Festival 2020. This is the world premiere broadcast of the interview!! The Enniskillen-born actor, writer, director and musician joined Michael Daly in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon, back in August for a chat on a wide range of topics, including his childhood in Enniskillen, his first experiences on stage, favourite films, Covid-19, John Hume and his musical life. Adrian Dunbar is best known for his television and theatre work. He has played Ted Hastings in the BBC TV drama ‘Line of Duty’ since 2012. Dunbar co-wrote and starred in the 1991 film, ‘Hear My Song’, nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the BAFTA awards. He has also appeared in such notable Irish films as ‘The Crying Game’, ‘My Left Foot’ and ‘The General’, to name but a few. Dunbar has worked extensively in theatre, and has supported both the Becket and Brian Friel festivals. Michael Daly is the former editor of the Donegal Democrat, and now writes his own blog, Daly’s Donegal, on Facebook. The interview was recorded in August 2020, following Covid-19 public health guidelines at the time, including social distancing and the involovement of minimal crew.
