Rasen neu anlegen auf Lehmboden - Rasenaussaat und Nachsaat bei schwierigen Böden
Dear gardening enthusiasts, this year I had to decide whether to reseed the bare #lawn patches in my #clay #garden soil myself or have a gardening company do it. I had a small piece of #lawn that was unfortunately completely flattened by the pool, and the clay soil was extremely compacted. The conditions with the #clay soil in my garden are anything but ideal for a beautiful, thick, green #garden lawn. In addition, ball games put extreme strain on the garden and lawn. After receiving quotes for a complete garden installation with turf, which cost around 2,500 euros, I decided to work on the small patch myself and reseed it. Since I wanted the children to continue playing in the other part of the garden, I also wanted to let the children continue playing in the other part of the garden. In April, after the first rain showers, I #dug up the lawn and removed large stones, weeds, and grass buds. Then I let the soil settle for a while and did the same thing again in May. After digging, I used a #tiller to plow through the coarse soil and incorporate substrate, fertilizer, and sand. I used #soilactivator, organic humus, sand, and #lawn soil. After loosening the soil for sowing the lawn, I leveled it a bit and sowed the grass seeds from a play and sports field by hand. The lawn was then lightly pressed down with a #roller to prevent the wind from blowing the seeds away. The soil then needed to be watered continuously and kept sufficiently moist for the new lawn to germinate. After 6-8 weeks, the lawn should be fertilized again. After a very dry summer, I had to water a lot. And after 12-14 weeks and sufficient rain showers in September, the lawn had grown back relatively well and thickly. It's ideal to use a #spreader to spread the #seed and fertilizer. Then the particles are simply distributed better and more evenly. Unfortunately, I've often searched for suitable videos on seeding grass on extremely difficult soils without having to use heavy or expensive equipment. But you can't get around using a tiller. I rented one from a hardware store for around €50, and the roller cost another €15 to rent. Otherwise, I paid another €150 for the soil, fertilizer, and seed. Compared to the cost of a professional gardener, I was able to save quite a bit. But you need a lot of patience and be aware that digging up clay soil with stones is very strenuous. I would only recommend this for small areas. For larger gardens, I would even hire a garden and lawn professional. The cost for my 100 square meter garden with rolled turf would have been around €2,000-2,500. Enjoy watching the video.
