Elevage, Nutrition et Résilience au Sahel – version complète

In the Sahel, malnutrition kills nearly 600,000 children each year. 20% of women and 25% of children suffer from chronic malnutrition. Even more have health problems caused by micronutrient deficiencies. To improve the resilience of populations and combat malnutrition in the Sahel, livestock farming has enormous potential, which requires investment. With the support of the European Union, FAO is strengthening dialogue between food security and nutrition stakeholders for better malnutrition prevention: in November 2014, nearly 50 professionals from six Sahelian countries met in Dakar to establish synergies between livestock farming and nutrition. This video presents the key themes discussed, participant feedback, and FAO tools available online. Project url: http://www.fao.org/in-action/food-sec... © FAO: http://www.fao.org
