PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is the story of two men. Luke (Jim Caviezel), a friend and physician, risks his life by entering Rome to visit Paul (James Faulkner), imprisoned in Emperor Nero's darkest and most somber cell. Before Paul's death sentence is carried out, Luke decides to write another book, one that details the beginnings of "The Way" and the birth of what would later be known as the church. But Nero is determined to eradicate the Christians in Rome, and he relentlessly executes them in the most cruel and inhumane ways. Bound in chains, Paul's struggle is internal. He has survived the unimaginable: floggings, shipwrecks, hunger, stoning, thirst, and cold, but as he awaits his appointment with death, he is haunted by the shadows of his past actions. Alone in the darkness, he wonders if this is the end of his mission... and if he has the strength to finish the race. Two men fight against an obsessed emperor and the weakness of the human spirit to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread his message to the world.
