Why It Sucked to Be an Inca Sacrificial Virgin

Being chosen by the Inca Emperor was the highest honor... and a death sentence. Beautiful, healthy girls from across the empire were taken from their families at age 8-10 and brought to the Acllahuasi – the House of the Chosen Women. For years they lived in luxury, learning to weave and make chicha beer for the gods. They weren't slaves. They were sacred. They were being fattened, prepared, and trained for one purpose: Capacocha – the high-altitude human sacrifice. On the final day, they were marched to the top of a 20,000 ft volcano, given coca leaves and corn beer to fall asleep, and left for the mountain gods. This is the true history of the Inca "Virgins of the Sun," told in MS Paint stick figure animation. ► SUBSCRIBE for weekly dark history: [   / @storyscope500  ] ► LIKE if you didn't know this ► COMMENT: Honor or horror?
