Homicide Detectives and Victim’s Family Members Ask Public for Information in Compton Double Murder Investigation; $20,000 Reward Offered Homicide Bureau detectives and family members made an appeal to the public Thursday morning, February 2, 2017, for assistance to find the persons who took the life of victims Richard Williams and Boston Farley. The Office of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved a reward of $10,000 and an additional $10,000 has been added by the victims’ family members making a combined offer of $20,000 in exchange for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the persons responsible for the murder of Richard and Boston with the hope of encouraging witnesses to step forward and share any tips they may have. It was a couple of minutes before 9:00 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2016, when 24-year-old Richard Williams and 23-year-old Boston Farley were driving their vehicle from a gas station parking lot in the 1200 block of South Wilmington Avenue, Compton, when an unknown person fired into their vehicle. A third passenger, who was in the vehicle with Richard and Boston, stated that as they were driving from the parking lot, an unknown armed male assailant was waiting on the sidewalk and began shooting into the vehicle. The suspect then got into a waiting white utility truck which fled northbound on Wilmington Avenue and out of view. Richard Williams and Boston Farley were residents of the city of Compton. Richard worked for a communications company as an installer. He leaves behind a 13-month-old son and fiancee’. Boston leaves behind a 1-year-old son.
