The Dhāraṇī of Glorious Vajraṇakhī from the Words of the Buddha #@tenzinnamgyalYT Vajranakhi is wrathful deity. She is the daughter of the sugatas, the sister of the bodhisattvas, and mother of the wrathful deities. She is the foremost of ḍākinīs, an ally of the vidyādharas, and the sovereign guardian of the teachings. She is the protectress of the Three Jewels, source of all siddhis, and the queen who liberates demons and heretics. History According to The Incantation of Glorious Vajra Claws, the Buddha revealed the method for invoking Dorje Dermo in a place called the Vajra Palace (Wyl. rdo rje zom gyi kham) to an assembly of monks and tantric practitioners. There the Buddha advised them, that if the dharani is recited, Dorje Dermo will become their guardian and protector, they will obtain many qualities and encounter only favourable circumstances. At the end of the dharani, Dorje Dermo recounts that countless aeons ago she took birth as a female practitioner. At that time the buddha called Dridha-shura-sena-prabha-raja (Skt. Dṛḍhaśūrasenapraharaṇarāja; Wyl. dpa’ brtan pa’i mtshon cha’i rgyal po) visited the world. When Dorje Dermo met this buddha, he placed his hand upon her head and entrusted her with the dharani. He foretold her that if she continuously recites the dharani, in future she will become known as the deity Dorje Dermo and bring great benefit and happiness to all sentient beings. Benefits Any vidyādhara who recites the dhāraṇī of this Vajra-Ḍākinī from memory will attain these fifteen qualities of excellence: Wherever they take birth, they will meet with a king who upholds the Dharma. They will be born in a place where negative actions are not committed. They will always encounter favorable times. They will always be befriended by the virtuous. Their faculties and limbs will be intact. They will maintain their discipline during the four activities.3 Their vows and samayas will never be damaged. Their offerings and possessions will not be stolen by others. They will always be respected and honored by others. They will have abundant wealth and enjoyments. They will accomplish whatever they desire. They will be protected by the guardians of the Dharma. They will always meet with a spiritual guide. They will practice the Dharma upon hearing it. These are the fifteen qualities of excellence they will obtain. Moreover, they will never experience the fifteen deaths from terrible experiences: They will not die of starvation from famine. They will not die by impact from weapons or blades. They will not die in battle with an assaulting army They will not be killed by tigers or wild beasts. They will not die from being drowned in water. They will not die from being immolated in fire. They will not die from being poisoned. They will not be killed by spirits. They will not die in a coma or of insanity. They will not die from falling off a mountain, tree, or cliff. They will not die from an opponent’s sorcery. They will not die from infectious diseases. They will not die from committing suicide. They will not die facing downwards. They will not die from lightning strikes. They will not die struggling, bewildered, or in great agony. Moreover, they will receive these benefits: Sickness will not befall them. If, through the power of karma, sickness should arise, they will recover swiftly. Many will consider them attractive. Their wealth and possessions will not be stolen. They will never have to fear enemies. Their progeny will be prosperous. They will live long. They will be powerful and mighty. They will have respect for noble teachers and practice the Dharma, And they will ward off all evil ‘si-spirits’,4 black magic and malicious speech. Thus, so that the Vajra-Ḍākinī may continuously guard, protect, and conceal you, Vidyādharas, you should copy this dhāraṇī, wear it, recite it, fully understand it, and correctly memorize it.” #buddha #deity #enlightened #heruka #practice #realization #sadhana #dorje #garuda #karmapa #practice #rigpawiki #lotsawahouse
