The route begins in Vogogna (VCO), one of Italy's most beautiful medieval villages and the gateway to Italy's largest wilderness park. It ascends through the picturesque village of Genestredo and enters a wild corner of Piedmont waiting to be discovered. The trail to the quarry features exposed sections and uneven terrain: suitable for experienced hikers, but requires careful consideration. Once you reach the quarry, the atmosphere of industrial archaeology suspended in time is worth every effort.
