The Moment of Truth | Yacht Meets Trailer | 23ft Sharpie Trailer Yacht Build

After years of design, construction, and problem-solving, the day has finally arrived — it's time to put the yacht on its trailer. This is a major milestone for my 23ft Sharpie trailer yacht, because once it's on the trailer, that's where it will spend most of its life. But getting there isn't quite as simple as rolling it underneath. Before I can make the move, I need to fabricate a strong stainless steel towing and lifting fitting from scrap stainless steel, capable of safely lifting the bow. Like many jobs on this build, it sounds simple until you actually have to make it! I also: Tidy up the unfinished electrical wiring Prepare the yacht for its move out of the shed But there are plenty of unanswered questions: How much clearance will there be between the yacht and the shed roof? Can I get the yacht outside without drama? Will the trailer need repositioning? How well does everything fit together now that the boat is sitting where it was designed to be? And before the yacht can live outside, there are still hatches to fit to make her properly watertight. This is one of those videos where a single step answers a lot of questions — and raises a few new ones.
