How to Freeze Fresh Pears Pears can be frozen for up to one year in the freezer if stored properly. Pears Lemon Water Freezer safe storage bags Wash pears and set aside. In a medium bowl add about 4 ½ cups water and the juice of one lemon (or 3 teaspoons of lemon juice). Slice each pear in half lengthwise, remove the core, and slice each half into quarters. Place each pear half in the lemon water for about 1-2 minutes to prevent browning. Remove pears from lemon water and place onto a paper towel lined dish. Pat each pear segment dry being sure there is not water remaining on the pears. Place pears on a parchment or silicone lined cookie sheet, with each pear laying on its side. Do not allow pears to touch or overlap. Place cookie sheet in the freezer until frozen firm or about two-three hours. Remove from the freezer and place pear sections in a freezer safe storage container. Be sure to label each container with the date and contents. Enjoy fresh pears for up to one year.
