Immediately after crossing the Macedonian-Kosovo border, we headed to Macedonia's most recognizable landmark, the Matka Canyon. The medieval monasteries and caves lining its shores add a special charm to the lake. First, we took a short hike to the Monastery of St. Nicholas. The monastery is perched on a clifftop, offering a stunning view of the gorge. Then we took a boat ride through the canyon itself and visited one of the most mysterious caves in the world, Vrelo Cave. The cave is one of the deepest underwater caves in Europe, and its depth remains unknown to this day. Before leaving, we sampled traditional Macedonian cuisine at a local restaurant and also visited another interesting monastery. I'd be grateful if you subscribed to my channel.
