BIG STRAT COMPARISON – 8 Strats / 8 Sounds – Hardtail vs. Tremolo – Fralin, Seymour Duncan, Fender

In this video, we’re comparing eight different Stratocaster-style guitars. They all share the same classic Strat shape – but differ in some important ways. We're hearing different tonewoods, Hardtail vs. Tremolo, some have the same pickup sets and different tone woods, others use identical woods but different pickups … This makes for a fascinating tone comparison! All Amp settings including Volume and Gain are exactly the same, only thing that changes is the guitar. The "Amp" is a Kemper Profile of a AC 30 in a almost clean setting, just about to break up. So hear "hotter" pickups breaking up earlier, while pickups with lower output stay almost clean! 4 Guitars are High-End Custom Shop Guitars (3 x Magneton, 1 x Wildhoney) from our Workshop and 4 Guitars are from our "BARNGAIN" Series of recycled guitars. Our goal today: To help you train your ears, and find out which combination of woods, pickups, and construction sounds best to you. The price range goes from 500 to 3000 Swiss Francs. It‘s almost the same Numbers in Euro and by the time of this video shoot it‘s around 600 to 4000 US Dollars.
