Let me know in the comments! What Makes This Singer Great? Sting When The Police first came on to the music scene they were like no other band. Led by the superb musicianship of Sting, they really cut their own path by doing their own thing. Known for the various musical elements he brought to his music, Sting possesses a high, tubular sounding voice that's both smooth and distinct. A prolific songwriter, Sting has always been known for creating catchy lyrics and melodies that people have really latched onto. Also a talented bass player, Sting has always hired top notch musicians to play alongside him and has enjoyed a very successful solo career, in addition to his time in The Police. He has gone on to win 17 Grammy Awards, sold over 100 million records and is one of the world's best-selling artists. Today I'll go into more detail regarding what I think makes Sting great as we look at one of his live performances.
