In 2006, one of the most controversial events in the history of Polish football leagues took place. Kujawiak Hydrobudowa Włocławek was relocated to Bydgoszcz and began playing as Zawisza Bydgoszcz SA. For some, it was a way to quickly put a large city on the Polish football map. For others, it was an attempt to take over the club's history and identity. In this film, I show how this operation came about, who was behind it, why it sparked such a huge backlash from fans, and the role Hydrobudowa and the corruption scandal in Polish football played in the overall story. This is the story of one of the most extraordinary organizational experiments in the history of Polish football – a project that was supposed to lead to the Ekstraklasa, but lasted only a year.
