Documentary 'Off balance, living with Huntington's disease' 'Off balance' tells the impressive story of Jordy den Boer and Ankie Donkers. Documentary filmmaker Axel Tabbernee followed them for a full year in their battle against Huntington's disease. The documentary makes it painfully evident how much impact this hereditary brain disease has on the carriers of the gene, their lovedones and the healthcare professionals. In the Netherlands, about 1700 people suffer from Huntington's disease, and there are about 6000 to 9000 risk bearers. Currently, it is not possible to cure this disease or even to slow it down.
