4 Minutes of Zen with 480 Otis, the King of Katmai - Explore.org
Gazing into the eyes of Alaskan brown bear, 480 Otis, can bring the kind of peace that is hard to find. What do you feel when you lock eyes with this (approximately 27 year old as of 2022) grand old bear? 480 Otis has been visiting Brooks Falls, at Katmai National park for decades, and has become a fan favorite for many reasons. 480 Otis's age, his beauty, and distinctively patient fishing style are all reasons for admiration, but many Explore.org bear cam watchers are most enamored of his calm, steady demeanor, earning him the nickname, the "Zen Master". HE has also won the title of Fat Bear Champion in the Katmai Fat Bear Content a total of four times, in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2021.
