Explorando el Paseo Bulnes un Emblemático Paseo Peatonal en Santiago de Chile.
Exploring Paseo Bulnes, an iconic pedestrian promenade in Santiago de Chile. Paseo Bulnes is an iconic pedestrian thoroughfare in the civic center of Santiago de Chile, which I will explore today. It is here that the daily routines of Santiago residents and travelers who visit it intertwine. Stay with me as we explore this beautiful and traditional place. Let's get started. Paseo Bulnes is a pedestrian thoroughfare located in the center of Santiago de Chile, extending north-south for six blocks from Plaza de la Ciudadanía to Almagro Park. It is mostly surrounded by public buildings. And it is here that I began my tour, precisely in the Plaza de la Ciudadana, where you can visit the Altar de la Patria: the crypt of Bernardo O'Higgins and a small historical museum. It was inaugurated in 1979, after O'Higgins' remains were transferred from the General Cemetery. This place is free to all visitors and provides valuable information. You can explore it at leisure in 40 minutes. And we begin our tour along Paseo Bulnes, a meeting point in Santiago's civic district, visited daily by locals and travelers visiting the Chilean capital. The promenade was declared a Typical Zone on February 5, 2008. It was built under an urban plan approved in 1937, whose main purpose was the development of a neighborhood around La Moneda Palace. The promenade is a community space that fosters the social and commercial life of the city. As you walk through it, you'll find an interesting culinary offering, including cafes, ice cream shops, and restaurants that make the most of the space with their lovely terraces. There are also various specialized shops, such as bookstores, veterinarians, and a vegan food market, among others. Paseo Bulnes is characterized by its monumental architecture, which, as I mentioned, is mostly made up of public buildings, such as the Public Employees' Savings Bank, the National Defense Pension Fund (CAPREDENA), the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), and others. A stroll along Paseo Bulnes is very enjoyable. It's lovely that the iconic benches and lanterns along the promenade are still in good condition. It reminds me of the 1990s when I used to come to Santiago, as well as seeing the iconic kiosks and carts selling mote con huesillo. The surroundings and atmosphere are very friendly, with people relaxing, walking their pets, and enjoying time with their children. It's clearly an attractive place to visit. At the end of Paseo Bulnes is the Pedro Aguirre Cerda Monument, an unfinished monument built in Almagro Park. Conceived as a tribute to former President Pedro Aguirre Cerda, and designed by Lorenzo Berg, its construction was interrupted and never completed, eventually being replaced by a more classical sculpture by Galvarino Ponce. Although unfinished, it was inaugurated in September 1967. You can reach Paseo Bulnes by metro on Line 1, La Moneda station, Nataniel Cox exit, or by taking the buses that run through the Almadea area, getting off at stop PA215, Stop 5, La Moneda. You can also reach Paseo Bulnes by car; there is an underground parking lot. I thoroughly enjoyed my walk along Paseo Bulnes. It made me feel part of the city and the civic district of Santiago de Chile, which I will definitely visit again in the future. Let me know in the comments if you know this place or would like to see it. Share this video with anyone you think might be interested. Thank you for watching. We'll be exploring new places soon. See you in the next video. Bye. Chapters 00:00 | Introduction 00:30 | Where is Paseo Bulnes?
