One evening in central Omsk, a citizen contacted traffic police officers after noticing a small boy walking unaccompanied across the bridge toward the Left Bank. A patrol crew consisting of Police Captain Dmitry Markov and Police Captain Evgeny Abramov immediately proceeded in the indicated direction. While searching a section of the Leningradsky Bridge, the traffic police officers saw the boy walking along the sidewalk toward oncoming traffic. The officers stopped the patrol car and helped the child into the vehicle. The young passenger's name turned out to be Alexey, a six-year-old man, and he was on his way to the Left Bank to visit a friend. As it turned out, he was at home with his brother; his parents were at work at the time. The boy decided to go for a walk, and to visit his friend, he first rode public transportation and then walked. The traffic police officers decided to take the child to his parents. Not knowing the exact address, Alexey gave directions to his home. It turned out the boy lived on 24th Severnaya Street. The police escorted the child to his apartment, handed him over to his mother, and gave her a warning about the need to supervise children's time.
