A "big rookie" has enrolled in the prestigious Noda Gakuen table tennis club, which has produced Olympians Yoshimura Maharu and Togami Shunsuke. New first-year student Iwaida Shunto, 15 years old. He transferred from Noda Gakuen Junior High School and has won the national championships in his age group three times, and won the Asian Youth Championship as a team. In addition, at the All Japan Championships in February 2024, he achieved the feat of finishing second in the men's doubles as a pair of third-year junior high school students. His weapons are his agile footwork and fast-attack style. He is mentally confident and has built up his skills through more effort than anyone else.
