We 3D Printed A PDGA Legal Disc And Tested It At Maple Hill

A disc golf disc... made on a 3D printer...that actually flies well?!? I've always wanted to make my own disc golf disc, so when Amadeus from Deuz Discs reached out and said he could do exactly that using a 3d printer, I had to take him up the on the offer. What started as a simple idea turned into a full look behind the scenes of how these discs are actually designed, sliced, printed and tested. After years of experimenting, tweaking designs and hundreds of hours of trial and error, Amadeus ended up printing 3 custom discs for me - including a putter, a midrange, and possibly the world’s most overstable disc (spoiler: he wasn't wrong!!) From failed prototypes and recalled printers to multiple PDGA-approved molds made entirely on a home 3D printer, this ended up being way more interesting than I expected. So naturally... I had to take them to Maple Hill, one of the most iconic courses in the world (and the top course in the US) and see if they actually worked... Honestly, the results surprised me.
