The 100 Hardest Super Famicom Games?
Five years ago, a book was published in Japan titled Shinu Mae ni Clear Shitai 200 no Muri Gee (死ぬ前にクリアしたい200の無理ゲー). It told you about 200 games that would be worth bragging about if you could beat them, 100 for the Famicom and 100 for the Super Famicom. The book is awful. Although it got referenced from time to time in Japanese retrogaming circles, the selection and reasoning was mocked. No author for the book was given, presumably it was some unfortunate freelancer given no time and told to just crank something out to fill shelf space. The result isn't an especially deep or thoughtful or carefully curated list. But it is a good high level view of some games that are well known enough in Japan to have a reputation as being hard. I've already talked about the 100 Famicom games in the book, but with the Famicom done it's time to do the 100 Super Famicom. If you want to find this book on Japanese Amazon, you can go to https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%AD%BB%E3... .
